Lahontan

Very near the highway (note passing car, to give you an idea of how close the site is to the road) is what appears to be the Lahontan dump. Many, many cans in a variety of shapes and sizes. I have no idea why I find this kind of thing exciting.
USGS Satellite photo of Lahontan Dam with the area Lahontan City occupied highlighted. Dam is visible towards bottom of photo. The two almost parallel lines running diagonally are U.S. 50 and the railroad tracks.
View of Lahontan sometime around 1911 or 1912.
